...indulge in an awful lot of temporary melancholic listening of The Smiths and Morrissey.
Rain clouds pouring with 'Everyday is like Sunday' interspersed with sunny intervals of gladioli thrashing 'Ask'.
I may have to indulge in some kind of lament to summer...ceremonial burning of flip flops...already thinking about Christmas a lot...deary me!!!
Thank goodness I am not single or I'd be going right over the edge, gratefully........or be sick over your frankly vulgar, red pullover!

"won't somebody stop me from thinking, from thinking all the time about everything, so deeply, so bleakly?"
"come armageddon, come armageddon, come!"

Personally I'm quite looking forward to autumn. I can buy wooly things, and wear boots again, and all those lovely greeny browny orangy autumnal colours I love so much xx
ReplyDeleteSee I agree with all that Elspeth, just not yet. I'm not ready to give up summer yet! x
ReplyDeletesummer has just gone too quickly. Back at work and already talking of return to school, uniform and autumn. Oh dear
ReplyDeleteHave to agree, summer seems to have dissolved into autumnal mornings and chilly rain..have no idea what to put on these days, wore flip flops this morning and got caught out in an awful downpour, I was FREEZING!!! May join you in ceremonial burning of said footwear, bring on the Uggs!

Noooooo, not autumn or Christmas yet ... heaven knows I'm miserable now! x
ReplyDelete'This is the coastal town that they forgot to close down...'. We students at Lancaster always thought that song was written about Morecambe!
ReplyDeleteI am expecting the sun/warmth to come back in September as soon as school starts. 'Tis what usually happens, so hopefully I won't have to ditch the Birkenstocks too soon. Got wet feet again today though.
I have been listening to the smiths all this week, there is a light that never goes out and this charming man!!!! I feel hard done by with this weather! Been curled up on the sofa moaping!!!!!! It's awful to think we are thinking about christmas Boo hoo xxx
ReplyDeleteI never seem to be content to be in a season for long, always preparing for the next. I reckon it has to do with our job, (as farmers) where we're always storing or sowing or preparing in some way for the season(s) ahead. I'm watching plums, damsons and blackberries ripen...what could be better?
ReplyDeleteI could do without the downpours though!
That post was just a great excuse to quote lyrics....the sun is out today although not warm, the day is dry and the sun is shining so I'm not complaining especially because I can partake in a favourite past time; watching the 'merry wasp dance' of the mums in the playground. It's really the best entertainment.

p.s Victoria, I said the same things about my Biscuits going back but alas it has not held!
