Another week, another make although I use that term liberally as this a a few weeks ago make but nevermind.
Now as you know I love cake and you may also know already I love lemon so this is the ultimate cake for me...
It was actually worth putting off my daily cappuccino till a more appropriate cake eating time in order to have a slice on my favourite pretty plate...
*sigh* cake!!

You can send all of Hubby Biscuits cake portions down here.. Lemon cake is the best...I always choose lemon over everything else {or at least first, as well as everything else...} x
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike!....although, it took many more efforts to get something edible! xxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReplyDeleteYou wicked, wicked woman putting pictures of delicious cake in front of me! I've just spent the morning moaning to my trainer that I have plateaued weight wise, so there is no more cake for me in the next few weeks because I secretly think that too much cake (is there such a thing?) may be the problem!!! Well, actually it was treacle ginger biscuits, but hey ho!
ReplyDeletep.s. lemon is nice, but coffee and walnut is better :-)
Victoria, coffee and walnut is what Hubby Biscuit always ask for but I refuse to bake what I cannot eat! Although it is his birthday next week so I may surprise him...
ReplyDeleteYou're both mad, coffee flavoured anything is YUCK!
But you know, each to their own!
x

ReplyDeletei am so behind on blogging about this!! i think i'll need to do 5 weeks in one post!! xx
tee hee - go girl x
ReplyDeleteIf Mr Biscuit doesn't like lemon cake, then it leaves all the more for you.... :O)))) I like to add caraway seeds to my lemon cake mixture.
ReplyDeleteCathy, this is what I don't get...he'll eat lemon poppyseed cake quite happily but says he isn't keen on lemon...fickle or what?

ReplyDeleteI'll tell you a secret, the sides were so overdone 'cause as usual I was doing two things at once, just check out how dark that top sponge is (first photo), luckily the lemon saved the sponge from drying out to much.
Tasted divine though.
x
Oooh! that cake looks so yummy!! Wish we lived nearer - would swap you buttons for cake!!!
ReplyDeleteMy hubby always says he doesn't like sponge, then eats it anyway!! x
I love lemon cake and am similarly blessed with a husband who doesn't, except when it's lemon drizzle cake and then apparently that's ok, but anything resembling lemon curd definitely isn't - how odd. But all the more for the rest of us. Thanks for popping over to my blog to say hello, sorry it's taken me ages to come to yours, I do like your pretty plate - I must try and remember to get mine out to have cake on in a civilised manner! xx
ReplyDeleteI've just (very slowly, obviously) noticed you've got the same blog background as me but in a different colour! I'm off to check up on your cats now xx
ReplyDeleteMmmm Yummy... x
ReplyDeleteLooks delicious, I love lemon cake - mine never taste good though. Must try harder! x
