Sunday baking.

Yesterday I spent the better part of the day in my apron baking.
I had a lovely ol' time to myself listening to music (MGMT, Newton Faulkner and REM if you are curious) and making a floury mess.

Scrummy yummy cupcakes, a few topped with lime buttercream and sprinkled with coconut.

And also

Bread to go with dinner.
I love baking bread but my rubbishy wrists hate it, particularly after making pizza dough the night before.  I use Jamie O recipes (after trying many others) but think I will be trying out some Baker Boys ones soon, love them!  Realized I love a man dusted in flour, who knew?

My Biscuits were playing happily, Mr Biscuit was maintaining his friendship with his guitar and I was in my lovely kitchen baking.  Happy day!

  1. There's rarely a week goes by that I don't regret selling my Kitchen Aid mixer (sold to fund starting up a new business that failed)

  2. Hi
Your bread looks absolutely delicious. The thought of lime buttercream and coconut is making my mouth water, I hate being on a diet :-) Hugs Em xx

  5. Emma, I would love to give it a go. Do love making bread so a less painful way would be great.
My email is in the contact page up top.
    Thanks. X

  6. Sounds like a perfect day, and your cupcakes and bread look amazing!
Lime buttercream sounds special, and the bread plaits look so professional.
I too have heard tell of a No Knead method - think it was mentioned 24corners blogspot, along with a wonderfil soup, but I never got round to checking the link - my blog has her link in my sidebar.

  7. My Mum was a Cordon Blue qualified chef. My Uncle owned and ran his own bakery/shop for over 50 years. Me? I bought a bread machine and get the OH to bung the ingredients in it, because His bread is still better than mine! :-D The plaited bread looks wonderful and so takes me back to Harvest Festivals when Uncle would make special shaped loaves. Had to put the annoying word verification back on as the spam was getting silly. Forgive me! Ali
